Minor Programs

To graduate with a minor in Analytics, students must complete 18 hours consisting of the following courses:

Required

• ISDS 2000 Business Statistics & Analytics I (3),
• ISDS 2001 Business Statistics & Analytics II (3), and
• ISDS 3110 Data and Information Management (3) or ISDS 3003 Introduction to Business Data Querying (3)

Approved Elective options (9 hours required)

• ISDS 3303 Advanced Data Modeling using Spreadsheets (3)
• ISDS 3075 Internship in Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS/ISA majors only)
• ISDS 4100 Information Systems Consulting (3) (ISDS/ISA majors only)
• ISDS 4112 Data Warehousing (3)
• ISDS 4141 Data Mining & Artificial Intelligence for Business (3)
• ISDS 4180 Business Analysis in Practice (3)

Exceptions

• For ISA majors only, ISDS 3200 will substitute for analytics minor electives.
• For ISA majors only, with approval from the department, ISDS 3075 may substitute for analytics minor electives (when ISDS 3075 is approved as an analytics internship)
• Certain ISDS 4070 sections (permission of instructor) may be available to non-ISA majors. Comments in the course offerings schedule will clarify this.

Students must have a 2.0 GPA in the courses used to satisfy the minor. At least nine semester hours must be taken on this campus, and, of the nine hours, at least three must be at the 3000 or 4000 level.

To graduate with a minor in entrepreneurship, students must complete 15 hours consisting of the following courses: ENTR 2000, ENTR 3012, ENTR 3111, and six additional hours to be chosen from departmentally-approved electives (listed below). Students must have a 2.0 GPA in the courses used to satisfy the minor. At least nine semester hours must be taken on this campus, and, of the nine hours, at least three must be at the 3000 or 4000 level. Non-Business majors are strongly encouraged to take ENTR 2999 as an elective, and as the first of the five required courses.

The Entrepreneurship Minor is not available to students majoring in entrepreneurship.

To graduate with a minor in Information Technology Management, students must complete 15 hours consisting of the following courses: ISDS 3001; ISDS 3002; ISDS 3003; and six additional hours to be chosen from departmentally approved ISDS electives (listed below). Students must have a 2.0 GPA in the courses used to satisfy the minor. At least nine semester hours must be taken through LSU.
