Biography
Ting-Hao Tsou, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Digital Advertising in the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Strategic Communication from the Missouri School of Journalism and both his M.A. and B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from Shih Hsin University in Taipei, Taiwan.
Before entering academia, Dr. Tsou accumulated over five years of professional experience in the advertising and marketing industry. He served as Store Manager-in-Chief, Marketing Supervisor, and Optometrist for the AZIZA Eye Care and Glasses chain stores, where his strategic management contributed to the opening of three additional branch locations. He also worked as a Copywriter and Graphic Designer at UHO Health News Media Company in Taipei.
Dr. Tsou’s research and teaching explore the intersection of emerging technology and strategic communication, focusing particularly on how augmented and virtual reality and artificial intelligence shape the ways audiences process and respond to persuasive advertising and health messages. His scholarly work has appeared in leading advertising journals such as the Journal of Interactive Advertising (JIA), Advertising & Society Quarterly (ASQ), and so on. He regularly presents his research at major international conferences including the American Academy of Advertising (AAA), Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), International Communication Association (ICA), and the International Conference on Research in Advertising (ICORIA).
