Lavar Henderson
Lavar R. Henderson is a political communication major at Louisiana State University (LSU), serving as the 2025–2026 Student Body President and as the student member of the LSU Board of Supervisors. A native of Houma, Louisiana, Henderson has demonstrated a deep commitment to public service and student advocacy throughout his academic career.
Prior to his election, Mr. Henderson served as a student senator where he was deeply involved in legislative processes, contributing to discussions and decisions that impacted the student body. His experiences in the Senate provided him with a nuanced understanding of student governance and the challenges faced by LSU students.
Outside of Student Government, Mr. Henderson gained invaluable experience through internships with Judge Randall Bethancourt, Governor John Bel Edwards, and Senator John Breaux. These roles allowed him to engage with constitutional law and public policy, shaping his aspirations to pursue a legal career focused on constitutional law.
Looking ahead, Mr. Henderson plans to attend law school, aiming to specialize in constitutional law and further his dedication to public service and student advocacy.
