LSU Vet Med is a biomedical research institution as well as a veterinary school. Our researchers' investigations cover a wide range of disciplines, including cancer biology, disease processes, cardiovascular disease, infectious and parasitic diseases, neurosciences, toxicology, bacteriology, and more.

We care for an array of species and see approximately 20,000 cases each year. We offer specialty services as well as primary care. Our comprehensive care allows us to treat a variety of illness and injuries. We are open 24/7, 365 to provide care for your animal.

Winners announced for LSU Vet Med's 31st Annual International Exhibition on Animals in Art
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is pleased to announce the award winners for its 31st Annual International Exhibition on Animals in Art, which opened October 4, 2025, and runs through October 31 in the LSU Vet Med Library. The exhibition features 56 works selected from 302 submissions representing 150 artists from 30 states, Canada, Germany, Guatemala, and Turkey.
Experience the wonders of Pippen Frisbie-Calders' art inspired by LSU Vet Med residency
A public art exhibition and presentation by Pippin Frisbie-Calder, LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s 2025 artist-in-residence, will take place on Monday, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the LSU Vet Med Library. All are welcome to attend the free event. Refreshments will be served.
