Decor Dos 

• Measure your room using the virtual housing tour website  to make a plan for furniture layout and storage needs. Fridge and microwave organizers, desk hutches, or over-the-door shoe organizers can make spaces more functional.
• Maximize space by lofting or bunking your bed, allowing for extra storage and seating. Add a futon or chair with pillows to maximize functionality without compromising on style.
• Use blackout curtains to block the morning sun and take afternoon naps to the next level.  
• Utilize bed skirts to conceal items underneath your bed, maintaining a tidy and clutter-free environment.
• Keep your room smelling fresh and avoid Living on Campus Handbook violations by using room sprays. 

Decor Do Nots

• Wallpaper should not be used in your room. There are better ways to elevate your space such as string lights.
• Decor should not be anchored in the wall. Refer to the Living on Campus Handbook to learn more about hanging decor in your community.  
• Bringing too many clothes can be overwhelming. Just bring what you need for that season, it’s hot most of the year in Louisiana!  
• Candles, incense, and wax warmers may smell good, but are a hazard for you and your neighbors.
• While trendy, lava lamps and other lamps that use halogen lightbulbs are not allowed.
• Placing your bed-on-bed risers is a recipe for disaster, so request to have your bed raised at your front desk.
